"Reno" had a rough start to life, found in a Minnesota barn stall with his sister, at 11 months old weighing a mere 34 lbs. A lot of "TLC" by Heidi Meulemans turned him into the 'man' you see pictured above. I was very fortunate to have shared my life with "Reno". My parents nicknamed him "Gentle Ben" because of his outstanding temperament ..... I never heard this boy growl. He was quite a living TEDDY BEAR.
Jesse was a shepherd/collie mix-breed that earned his obedience titles registered with AMBOR (American Mix Breed Obedience Registery). He was the 1st 'partner' I had & HE got me involved with Dog Show Competitions. He was a TOP SCORING boy & a true pleasure to train and work with, always at my side, never letting me down. With having to share his life with a bunch of Aussies, we earned ALL of his titles at ASCA Sanctioned shows.
His record speaks for itself:
'1990' - recipient of the 'Maxwell's Second Chance Trophy'
given to the Highest Scoring Novice Mixbreed Team in the USA
'1990' - recipient of the AMBOR 2nd Place Midwest Regional Trophy
'1991' - recipient of the 'Rex Memorial Trophy'
given to the Overall Highest Scoring Mixbreed Team in the USA
and, of course
'1991' - recipient of the AMBOR 1st Place Midwest Regional Trophy
'1992' - recipient of the 'Gabe Memorial Trophy'
given to the Highest Scoring Open Mixbreed Team in the USA
other accomplisments: (out of a possible 200 pts)
10/13/90 - High In Trial with a Novice score of 199pts
4/28/91 - High in Trial with an Open score of 199 1/2 pts
PLUS many more High in Trials
Jesse is VERY sadly missed by me - if they could only live as long as we do.
